S o...a couple weeks back, I ordered some !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . The site said to allow 2- 3 weeks for delivery, however they made it to my house in 6 days. Huzzah!
Having used them for a few days now , I can say they are pretty fantastic. The material is silky smooth, and don’t seem to chafe my skin like the work-provided cotton masks I’ve been using for the last few months.
Here’s a quick rundown of my Pros and Cons...
Pros:
Soft material, almost feels like silk.
Good coverage of the mouth and nose, even with my facial hair.
Nice patterns with vibrant colors. I’ve only hand-washed them, but so far no color run or fade.
Quality stitching. The elastic has a great feel, holds well without feeling like it’s trying to pull my ears off.
Cons:
At $16 each, they are a little bit pricey.
No rigid part to pinch around the bridge of the nose, leaves a bit of a gap on both sides.
The material is a bit sheer, it looks a little funny with my mustache and beard.
Now, with all that said. I have had one person comment on the Pleiades mask, asking if I had a Subaru. I lied and said yes, because it seemed like a quicker way to end the conversation with the random stranger standing within my personal space. The 787 mask, on the other hand, has gotten absolutely zero correct guesses from people. Two people, however, have asked if it was from Power Rangers. I’ll probably be ordering at least one or two more, as it seems this pandemic thing is going to be happening for awhile.
In conclusion, I give them a hearty thumbs up.
Oh, and the keychain is new too. It replaced an old Blipshift one that served me well for about the last five years and was started to look a little haggard. The new one felt like a good choice , working in the aviation world and all.

So, I consulted with my wife and the Subaru one looks like a bikini/swimsuit bottom.
I really like the Mazda one. It’s probably my favorite I’d buy. But I still have some N95 masks from work. And also a respirator with P100 cartridges that is for work.
Sorry I may have ruined it for you.

Very nice. I think I’m going to go for the Wolfsburg, Retro, and BRG next. It’ll give me a fresh mask to wear every day of the week.
Have you run yours through the laundry? If so, how did they hold up?

Didn’t ruin it at all. It’s summer, and I’ve been working on my bikini bod!

I find companies profiteering off of the pandemic to be in bad taste, no matter how fashionable they might be.

I’m up to four blipshift masks now. I’m a bit concerned about the thinness of the material as it makes me wonder how effective it is, and like you said something to pinch the nose would be nice, especially at this price point. Big fan otherwise

I thought about stitching in a piece to pinch the nose. But the reality of it is that I’m terrible with a needle and thread, and would probably ruin the mask.
Time will tell how durable they are though.

What's the options? My wife has made ours, but she's awesome and handy. Not everyone can make their own

That’s a totally fair point.
I guess, for me, it comes down to the fact that I need to be wearing a mask. I’m around the general public at an airport, 40-60 hours a week, and I’m in a high risk category for COVID complications. There were two styles of masks provided to me by my employer. One is too tight, resulting in headaches and chafed skin. The other is far too loose, without creating any kind of seal on the entire upper portion of the mask. So I wanted an alternative, and figured if I was going to buy some masks for myself, I’d buy some that reflected me and my hobbies of choice.
I don’t know what their profit margins are on these, but I’m sure that they aren’t too bad for them. However, wouldn’t buying any masks from any vendor be the same problem?

If they were making masks last year, cool. If they started making them in 2020, kinda greasy imho.
I noticed Hanes is selling them now too, next to the underwear at Walmart. Almost bought some but felt a certain way about it. Also I have enough n95's and p100 respirators to last for covid’s 20-26.

The single layer synthetic fabric has even less filtering effect than a 2 or 3 layer cotton mask. I like their tshirts but $16 is a lot for a mask.

I did the “water test” with mine, to see how much water runs through when I put it under the faucet. It seems to hold water better than the 2-ply cotton ones my work provides.
However, I am most certainly not a scientist, and have absolutely no idea if my test has literally any meaning in any way, shape, or form.
But yes, $16 is a bit pricey for a mask.

That price definitely is steep, but people need masks and someones gutta sell them. I was gunna grab one until i was the price. the review didn’ t help either.
